***SUPER LAZY EDIT. I have been informed these guys cost ¥200-¥300 and not ¥100. Still worth it!!! ***
My super mega awesome girlfriend gave me these mini Gundams as gifts from Japan. The black on the in the middle was the first gift she gave me!!! She said they only cost a ¥100 and for that price point I am jealous at what he Japanese can get from their insert coin(s), twist the handle and a toy pops out machines. In comparison here in America there are similar machines that typically spit out gumballs, stickers, tattoos, or crappy mini toys for a a dollars worth of quarters. Sometimes there are good dollar machines that give out mini cars, cell phone charms, or mini statue like figures.
Showing off some of the capsules they come in.
Gundam weapons. Very awesome. These could have been sculpted into the hands of the Gundams but they came separate. Very awesome.
These guys aren't very big at all. They only reach a little above the standard 3.75 inch figure's knee.
If only they released these for a dollar in America. They would probably be sold out all the time for that price. So unfortunately pass on these unless you want to pay X amount more for shipping than for the actual toy.
COLLECTORS: Try to see if you can buy them in a set if importing to other countries. If not then I say pass because it will probably cost too much to ship each one individually, not to mention good luck finding online retailers that sell this ¥100 toy.
PARENTS: Stay away from this toy unless by some chance you see it in a local coin machine. There's no reason for you to give these as a gift unless your child is 16+ then these make a really nice gift that can pretty much go anywhere.
I hate to say this because you said they were 100yen like 800 times in this post but they're actually 200 to 300 yen. Lol.
ReplyDeleteMore importantly, this is the REAL reason everyone wants a Japanese Girlfriend (tm). American expats work just as well!
HAha shoot. Oh well that's still much better than what we get in America.
