I got these as a gift years ago. I cannot remember how long ago, maybe six or seven or even eight years ago. Man how time flies. Anywho I never really feel right reviewing presents and I more want to show off what these figures look like up close. My current lighting does the figures no justice however.
I cannot remember if I got these guys as a birthday present or a Christmas present but I really enjoy them. Up until recently they sitting under my monitor. My only gripe with these awesome little guys is they fall over really easily. For some reason my keyboard, mouse, or speaker wires are attracted to these guys and they would always get knocked over.
I forgot to post a size comparison. But the average space these figures take up is about as much as a Zippo lighter.
If you want to pick this set up they $15.00(at the time of this post) not including shipping from here. They normally cost $30.00 and as a fan of the website I think it's a really good price to get those figures for half off. I'm tempted to go pick up some patches right now for my bag. I really wish I had ordered a hoodie when I had the chance because the only thing they are selling right now is the tee shirts.
Nice mailer it came in. I'm not sure if it was wrapped on the outside but I assume it was. The sticker part on the left top hand side is removed because I think it was the price tag.
Who does it include???
The main character of the website Homestar Runner. He was really hard to take a picture of because his white is really reflective.
My favorite character on the website. Strong Bad. This character really hasn't changed over the years and that's what makes him great/boring. It still is awesome how he can type with those boxing gloves on.
Showing off the back here because it has stitching on the mask.
The Cheat! Stong Bad's side kick. I wish I had the Cheat Commando figures.
Marzipan. The only girl on the show and Homestarrunner's girlfriend.
"I'm sad because some animal died."-Imaginary Strong Sad. I think Strong Sad is the youngest Strong brother.
Strong Mad. Never really said anything intelligible.
Pom Pom. The magical flying guy... that could do anything.
Bubs. Always selling stuff. Not that memorable to me.
Coach Z. Talked funny and I really don't remember much about him.
Looking at these figures makes me want to watch all those Strong Bad E-mails all over again. I really miss how they used to release new content every week on the website. But now it seems they release new content once in a blue moon. I do think it's difficult for them to come up with new jokes using the same characters. I don't want to say it's gone stale but watching the newer episodes of Strong Bad E-mails is like watching the same stuff from eight years ago.
I might shell out the $20+ for the Cheat Commandos and Series 2 figures. It would be cool to have the Poop Smith, King of Town, and Homsar stand near these guys.
COLLECTORS: If you loved the website you'll love these. The figures don't take up a lot of space and they're really cheap right now. I'd try to pick them up before they sold out.
PARENTS: This set isn't for kids. The box says this is for display only. I think children would be too tempted to play rough with these figures and while they can take the damage a child can dish out, they will probably warp and bend.
