Standard Marvel Universe Packing for when Norman Osborn was in Charge. Pretty nice. I also forgot I had macro mode on my camera until the end. So there are only a few nice shots using that mode.
Mini character summary. I'm kind of interested in reading the Dark Avengers storyline now. I also want to buy more of the dark avengers but that right now that would cost me a lot because figures like Ms. Marvel go for 20-30 online.
I have Winter Soldier and Iron Spider-man. Both of those are awesome and I'd recommend them. I'll probably review them later. I really want Mary Jane for some reason. It just looks so awkward as a toy and I'm not really sure why they made this one. Unfortunately getting her would cost me twenty dollars so if anything I'd get her and store her someplace nice to appreciate in value, or devalue.
Iron Patriot comes with the standard Marvel Universe stand, art/bio card, cord for non-working website, and mini letter about him. Iron Patriot's personal accessory is some lame energy tunnel shot. Wooo.
Here Iron Patriot is with his energy blast. Yeah looks like it'll hurt on impact.
Articulation. Iron Patriot has a ball jointed head PLUS a joint on his neck to help him look up and down. Shoulders can move 360. Mid-shoulder rotation. Single elbow joint and wrist swivel. Chest can rotate and move up and down. Legs attached to hip via ball joints. Double jointed knees. Due to costume foot can rotate, kind of stiffly.
Size. Comparison. Here is Iron Patriot next to Ironman 2's Hulk Buster Armor and Captain America Concept armor. He's the standard 3.75 inch figure. I'm not sure if the new bodies will be any smaller than this. Now that I have six MU figures they appear to be the same height.
The star on his chest doesn't sit flush against the body. Glue flaw. |
Face details aren't too well painted. His left eye has a lot more shaded in detail versus the right eye.
Paint chips located on the mid back and right buttocks. haha buttocks. Something I couldn't see from the outside of the package. Not that it matters since returning this guy would have been a pain.
I definitely recommend getting this guy. Even though Iron Patriot is from an older wave he is still fun to play with and pose. I want to get more of the Dark Avengers but it's shame some of them do not have bases to stand on. I wish Marvel Universe figures were five to seven dollars in store because then I'd have a whole bunch of them in display. Sitting at a high nine dollars makes me reluctant to pay for such a figure because in my mine it wasn't too long ago I was paying only a little over ten for Transformer Deluxe class figures.
COLLECTORS: Get this if you haven't already. He looks great with the other Marvel Universe figures. Try to see if you can get him for the Target sale price which seems to be happening everywhere except here.
PARENTS: While this is an awesome toy to get your child the high price tag might make you think again. The joints probably won't lost long with extended play from a child. But then again all toy prices are shooting up so only pick this one up if your child really wants him.
