Marvel Universe Scarlet Spider Review

Woo at that toy fair I picked up a bunch of Marvel Universes for around $10-12 dollars.  I don't normally like paying that much for them but they are pretty awesome and they had ones I wanted.  First up the Scarlet Spider variant!

Upside down figure is kind of cool.  Although I will say it looks like someone returned him. I have had several Spider-Man figures as a kid but Scarlet Spider was never one of them.  I always wanted one.  I used to pretend one of my old Spider-Mans was the Scarlet Spider.

I might get the skarr figure later because I pretty much have all the Hulks now thanks to this toy fair.

Scarlet Spider looks so cool out of package. Something about his costume screams "90's" to me for some reason.  Probably the sleeveless hoodie for a costume.  I'm not too sure I remember him having the leg pouches.

Articulation:
-Ball jointed head.
-Ball jointed shoulders.
-Shoulders can rotate.
-Double jointed elbows.
-Ab crunch
-Ball joined hips.
-Rotation upper thigh.
-Double jointed knees.
-Ball jointed feet.

The weakest point about these Scarlet Spider figures is the leg joint pops off.  I thought that maybe if I paid for the Variant somehow my toy would be spared.    Alas  I was proven wrong...  My friend did recommend I try putting some Pledge Shine on it.

The only thing that makes this version the variant, besides the toy being upsidedown on the bubble, is Scarlet Spider being referred to as Spider-Man.  He was for a while in the comics when Peter Parker temporarily retired but I would have liked this to still say Scarlet Spider.  This is also the only accessory this here "Spider-Man" comes with.

Size comparison to Human Alliance Sideswipe.

Next to Iron Spider-Man.   Same body but because of the two different suits I recommend getting both if you are a Spider-Man fan.

They even shoot stuff from their wrists the same.

No bad leg on Iron Spidey.  He gets to carry Scarlet Spider home.

Because of bad quality control for this figure I would recommend paying anything over retail for it.  I've seen a lot of reviews for this guy and everyone seems to have the same problem with his leg falling off.  If you're going to pose him and are a Scarlet Spider fan I definitely recommend him.  He can pose just fine but if you want a figure to fiddle with then this is not the guy for you.

COLLECTORS:  This is the second Scarlet Spider released but this time in his more familiar costume.  I def recommend picking him up if you like  Spider-Man.  Scarlet's costume and paint job are different enough that it's almost like buying a toy that isn't using Spider-Man's body.

PARENTS:  Buy your child another toy.  This guy will probably have the bad leg and your child will probably come crying every time his leg pops off.  I recommend getting a stabler toy.  If you have an older child this toy is definitely fine to buy and if you live in a State lucky enough to stock this guy then go ahead and pick him up.
